The honest answer: it depends on what you need done. But that's a cop-out, so here are real numbers from projects we've done across Dallas, Plano, McKinney, and Frisco.

Weekly Lawn Maintenance

Basic weekly service (mow, edge, blow) runs $35 to $65 per visit for a standard residential yard. Bigger lots or properties with a lot of detailed edging push that higher. Most of our customers land around $45 per visit for a typical 5,000 to 8,000 square foot yard.

That covers mowing, string trimming along fences and beds, and blowing off driveways and sidewalks.

Sod Installation

Sod itself costs $0.30 to $0.60 per square foot depending on the variety. Bermuda is cheapest. St. Augustine and Zoysia cost a bit more. Labor for installation (including soil prep, tilling, and grading) adds another $0.50 to $1.00 per square foot.

For a typical 3,000 square foot front yard, you're looking at $2,400 to $4,800 all-in with soil prep. We've done full-yard sod replacements for $3,500 on the low end and $8,000+ for larger properties in Prosper and Lucas where the lots are bigger.

Mulch and Flower Beds

Fresh mulch runs about $50 to $75 per cubic yard installed. Most front yard beds need 3 to 6 yards. A typical mulch refresh with bed cleanup and edging costs $300 to $600 for a standard home.

If you want seasonal flowers planted too, add $150 to $400 depending on how many flats you want. Pansies in winter, petunias in summer. We usually plant in groups of 36 to 72 for a full look.

Stone Edging

This is where costs vary the most. Simple river rock borders run $8 to $15 per linear foot. Flagstone or limestone edging is $15 to $30 per linear foot. A 50-foot front bed border in limestone with installation typically costs $1,000 to $1,800.

Sprinkler System Install

A new sprinkler system for a standard residential lot in DFW runs $2,500 to $5,000. Larger properties or smart controller upgrades push it toward $6,000 to $8,000. Repairs are much cheaper. A broken head is $75 to $150. A valve replacement is $150 to $300. Pipe leaks depend on the location and depth.

Tree Trimming

Small ornamental trees: $150 to $300 each. Medium shade trees (crepe myrtles, oaks under 30 feet): $300 to $600. Large oaks or pecans that need a bucket truck: $800 to $2,000+. We don't do the huge removals ourselves but can handle trimming and shaping on most residential trees.

French Drains

French drain installation runs $25 to $50 per linear foot in DFW. A typical 30-foot run from the back of the house to the street costs $750 to $1,500 including the drain pipe, gravel, and landscape fabric. Foundation drainage systems that wrap around part of the house run $3,000 to $6,000.
